CLC: Here for your library, here for you

CLC's mission is to serve all types of Connecticut libraries by helping them strengthen their ability to serve their users. Usually, that means we're working with librarians to bring resources, programs, and innovative ideas to their communities. But a few of our projects go straight to the public. Here are some of the ways we're collaborating with our library partners to directly impact and enrich the lives of Connecticut residents.

Did you know that during the COVID-19 pandemic, most Connecticut pubic libraries are still offering virtual programs? Whether you are looking for storytime, craft programs for kids or adults, book discussions, tech help, job hunting or small business resources, armchair travel, or just about anything, public libraries are there for you - and right now, you can virtually attend programs at other libraries too. Online Programs

Most of CLC's professional development programs are for librarians - but from time to time, we offer programs directly to the public. Check back soon for opportunities.

Take Your Child to the Library Day

Every day is a great day to take your child to the library - but Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCLD) is a day to celebrate it! An international initiative that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library, Take Your Child to the Library Day was launched in 2011 right here in Connecticut. This unique celebration raises community awareness about the importance of the library in the life of a child, and promotes library services and programs for children and families.

The 10th annual Take Your Child to the Library Day will be celebrated in February 2021. Check back soon for more information on how you can celebrate at your favorite library.
