Genre Study: Popular Thrillers & Mysteries

PLUS: Our Annual Holiday Book Swap!

Popular thrillers and mysteries have been dominating the bestseller lists since The Girl on the Train made its debut, with unreliable narrators and twists galore. These titles can feel nearly impossible to do readers' advisory for, since one person's clever twist is another's obvious ending. Here's your chance to figure out the appeal of these books to different types of readers, and think about how to connect them with another title they'll like, instead of just hoping there's another book with "girl" in the title nearby! Please read any bestselling thriller or mystery from the past two years to prepare. Not sure what to read? Try one of these (scroll down to see the covers):

book wrapped in brown paperWe will also have our annual holiday book swap! Please bring a copy of a book you love, wrapped, for the exchange. There's no need to bring a new copy - it can be a discard or ARC. The only important thing is that it's a book you enjoyed and want another reader to enjoy.

Registration is open now - please register using the link above. All are welcome!
