More about the programs (from the Scranton Library web site):

  • Family Place programs are for children birth through age three. "Each week we set up our community room as an early childhood space. The areas include art, infant toys, puzzles, puppets, books, trucks, play kitchen, and a tunnel. We invite resource people in to talk to parents informally on a variety of topics including speech & language, play, social & emotional development, nutrition and music. The program ends with a 15 minute circle time where a story is read and songs are sung."
  • Little Wizards programs are for preschoolers ages 3-5. "Each week we read stories on a particular theme. After story time the children are invited to explore stations in the room. Stations include play dough, art, Ipads, puzzles, math activities, early literacy activities and more."
