Cemeteries? Godfrey's Got That!

PLEASE NOTE - This meeting takes place from 9:30am to 11:00am. It does not begin at 9:00am as originally published.

Join us on Thursday, November 21 for another meeting of the Genealogy Roundtable. Godfrey Memorial Library's Director, Carol Ansel, will review the online cemetery programs out there: Find-a-Grave, Million Graves, and Godfrey’s Laput Cemetery Collection while Connie Robinson, past president of the Noah Webster House and West Hartford Historical Society, and a current board member of the Cedar Hill Cemetery Association, reminds us that gravestones and cemeteries tell a story.  If you know how to look at the symbols on a gravestone, you can better understand the cultural makeup of a community.  Gravestones are art forms changing with fashion, culture and beliefs of the era.  Through a PowerPoint presentation, local cemeteries will be explored revealing the stories and secrets hidden behind their gates.

The Genealogy Roundtable is open to anyone interested in exploring and sharing resources and strategies for genealogy and family history research.

Registration - Please register using the link above.
