Libraries, Homelessness, and Housing Insecurity

Library staff interested in social justice and social responsibility are invited to the next meeting of the Social Justice Roundtable on Thursday, October 25 at 10:00 am at the Middletown Library Service Center. Join your colleagues in sharing concerns, resources, and ideas, and engaging in coordinated efforts to better serve our communities through improved communication and understanding.

This meeting will focus on Libraries, Homelessness, and Housing Insecurity. Homelessness and housing insecurity are issues in our communities, no matter where in Connecticut we live and work. A panel will discuss the topic and provide ideas that can be implemented in our libraries. Speakers include:

  • Carl Asikainen, Youth System Coordinator, Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness
  • Madhu Gupta, Executive Director, New London Public Library
  • Carline Charmelus, Policy Analyst, Partnership for Strong Communities.
  • A guest from Faces of Homelessness Speakers Bureau

Registration - Please register using the link above. It takes just a few moments, and is greatly appreciated.
