Medical Reference

Join us as we explore many facets of medical reference. We will have presentations from regional, state, and local libraries and organizations on:

• Public access to biomedical information, including resources and services

• State resources for the public as well as for librarians

• Building a core medical reference collection

• Conducting a program on reliable medical sources

We will also review guidance on medical reference from professional organizations, and discuss resources, challenges, and best practices at our libraries.

To make the meeting accessible to more librarians across the state, we will have two meetings, each of which will include the medical reference topics listed above. The other meeting will be held on Thursday, September 20 at the Darien Library.

Join us for coffee and networking from 9:30 to 10. Our presentations and discussion will run from 10 am to 12 pm.

Important Information:

Attendees need to park in the Isham Garage, 65 New Street, West Hartford, CT. They would then skip the kiosk and come directly to the library. Attendees need to enter the library through the Blue Back Square entrance since the library does not open until 10am.

Everyone needs to know their license plate number, which they will enter it into a tablet to validate parking for the entire time of the Roundtable. Library validation is good only for the Isham Garage, not for the Memorial Garage or for street parking meters.
