The Whole Book Approach

The Children's Librarians Roundtable Northwest is back! For our March meeting, co-chair Denise Butwill will recap what she learned at the The Eric Carle Museum's Whole Book Approach workshop. "The Whole Book Approach" is a co-constructive (interactive) storytime model developed by author and Simmons College lecturer Megan Dowd Lambert in association with the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. According to Lambert, the Whole Book Approach is "a means of reading with children, as opposed to reading to them, as it invites children to make meaning of text, art, and design - the whole book!"

PLUS: Do you have a summer reading log that works at your library? Bring it to share.
