Plan the Work, Work the Plan!

The work of a library director requires the ability to think and plan strategically. Whether it is creating a long-range plan, trying to increase the sustainability of the library, or restructuring the organization for maximum effectiveness, this is a skill new library directors must develop. Join us this month as Bob Serow from RLS Consulting discusses how directors can be effective in their strategic planning activities and how to develop these important skills.

About the speaker: Bob Serow is founder and principal of the firm RLS Consulting, and is proud to add that he serves as a third party consultant of choice for both the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Through experiences gained in his career working with nonprofit organizations, Bob provides counsel in the areas of fundraising, governance, strategic planning, leadership development and organizational planning and management.

The New Directors Roundtable is a forum to encourage discussion, professional development and support among those who are new or new-ish to the library director role, and anyone from out-of-state who has recently taken a library director position in Connecticut.
