Leadership vs. Management

Leadership: noun

The position or function of a leader, a person who guides or directs a group.


Management: noun

1. The act or manner of managing, handling, direction, or control.
2. Skill in managing executive ability.


What are the subtle (and not-so-subtle) differences between leadership and management, and how do you use each in your role as a department head or supervisor?
