(Canceled) Making Mentorship Work for YOU

Mentors are an invaluable resource at any stage of your career, but especially when you are a library science student or new librarian. Join us for a discussion about mentor-mentee relationships and learn how you can find a mentor to help you navigate the start of your career! Our speakers:

  • Jessica Branciforte of the Connecticut Library Association will be joining us to talk about the mentoring program that CLA is developing. From our perspective as potential mentees, we will give her feedback on what we are looking for in a mentoring relationship and how the program would work best for us.
  • Two seasoned library professionals will also be joining us to share their advice on making the most of a mentor-mentee relationship: Jennifer Keohane (Executive Director, Connecticut Library Consortium) will talk about informal, on-the-job mentoring; and Allison Murphy (Children’s Librarian, Wallingford Public Library) will speak about her involvement in a formal mentoring program.
