About the CLC/OCLC Direct Training Program
The CLC/OCLC Direct Training Program has been specifically designed to meet the training and professional development needs of CLC's member libraries.
The Training Program will be shaped in partnership with a CLC training team that will determine appropriate topics, locations and timing for the multi-type libraries within the consortium. The team will draw from the extensive portfolio of education and training opportunities offered by OCLC Eastern.
The available courses cover a broad range of OCLC products and services, library, and professional topics. New topics, emerging issues, and/or on-demand training can also be provided.
Training sessions and workshops will be delivered by OCLC-approved trainers that include practicing librarians, OCLC staff, professional workshop facilitators, and educational consultants who have extensive experience and expertise working within the library community.
The Program will offer 25 training sessions:
- In person - 16 workshops and/or training sessions on 8 OCLC and/or library related topics, each repeated in two different locations within the state.
- In person - 3 management and/or professional issues seminars and/or workshops each offered at one location within the state.
- Webinar - 6 sessions on OCLC products or other topics that can be readily adapted for this type of delivery.
In addition to the sessions that have been identified above, CLC members can request and/or participate in other training and professional development workshops offered through OCLC Eastern at a significant discount. Special programs such as "train the trainer" or custom workshops can be developed at a special negotiated rate designed to make training affordable and keep additional costs to a minimum.
