CLC/OCLC Direct
for Connecticut's Libraries

August 2009: Please note that due to changes to the structure of OCLC, CLC/OCLC Direct will not be offered for 2009-2010. However, all current CLC/OCLC Direct members will be able to continue procuring OCLC services directly through OCLC. This page will be updated with new information for members as soon as it becomes available.

CLC/OCLC Direct: Program Summary

OCLC DIRECT: WHY?
CLC is offering CLC/OCLC Direct for the purpose of both saving money and providing convenient, customized training options for member libraries.

OCLC DIRECT: COST FOR CORE SERVICES
Cataloging, ILL, and Access subscriptions are billed directly to libraries by OCLC, with no added surcharges, membership costs, or other fees. Libraries have the option of annual or monthly after-the-fact billing, or an interest-earning deposit account.

OCLC DIRECT: COST FOR TRAINING & SUPPORT

  • New CLC/OCLC Direct libraries, upon signing a one year commitment (July 1 to June 30) for CLC/OCLC Direct, will be invoiced $300 as a deposit for training designed by the CLC/OCLC Direct Training Team and provided in Connecticut by OCLC Eastern.
  • Libraries that opt for training beyond their deposit within the one-year commitment period will be charged at the CLC/OCLC Direct member rate for training sessions (the lowest rate available).
  • Upon renewal for a second or subsequent year, libraries that have exhausted their training account will be invoiced another $300. Libraries that have a balance in their training account will be invoiced an amount sufficient to replenish the balance to $300. Libraries that have not used any of their training funds will not be invoiced.
  • 24/7 Help Desk support is provided free of charge directly by OCLC in Dublin, OH. Support for all OCLC Services is provided free of charge by OCLC Support Specialists.
  • Monies held on deposit with OCLC may be used for any OCLC Services or non-OCLC services purchased through OCLC Eastern.
