InfoAnytime News
INFOANYTIME SERVICE HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2009 DUE TO STATE BUDGET "HOLDBACKS."
CLC's Executive Director Christine Bradley released the following message to the library community on September 29, 2009:
CLC's support for InfoAnytime is cancelled THIS Wednesday, September 30, due to the devastating news just announced about severe budget "holdbacks" in this fiscal year (July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010).
$84,389 is gone from CLC's state grant of $350,000, and $36,167 is gone from InfoAnytime, leaving only $6,333.
I would have liked to give the library community more notice, but the cost of extending InfoAnytime for one extra month would be $4,175 (in addition to the $12,500 we have already paid for the quarter ending September 30, 2009). CLC just doesn't have the money. We will be notifying directly the 133 public libraries and 28 academic libraries and ICONN, who offer a gateway to InfoAnytime on their websites.
I have enjoyed working with all of you and all the staff at Tutor.com. It is with great regret that I announce the end CLC's support for InfoAnytime.
