Program Summary

For a second year, CLC is partnering with MRC Corporation to provide member libraries with a comprehensive package of Human Resource training, development, and direct support services. These services will help libraries cope successfully with the challenges of managing and leading people.

Benefits for subscribers:

  • MRC will work for your library as an in-house human resources staff.
  • MRC human resources professionals can review HR policies and procedures and assist library managers with specific HR concerns, including situations both urgent and routine.
  • MRC provides free seminars for all subscribing library employees on a variety of important HR topics.

MRC is a nationally recognized Human Resource consulting practice with a successful history of working with libraries. With this partnership, CLC will give all of our libraries access to the best and most cost effective tools available for managing people effectively. Subscribe today and see how MRC's demonstrated capability in helping library directors manage through their personnel issues will provide you with powerful and "value-added" solutions for improving your Human Resource practices!

Program Details

Libraries that become subscribers will have access to:

  • Policy Development - A detailed resource manual that is backed with both online and phone support. Each quarter, directors and their supervisors will be able to attend seminars that will focus on important topics while providing a general review of policy legal issues. These seminars are free to subscribers.
  • Team Building - MRC will incorporate a complete training program on how to build and manage teams as part of a special training series. MRC will come on site to provide specific training to your library's staff to help them get the process started.
  • Goal Setting & Performance Management - These key foundations of communications will be reviewed in depth at each of our training programs. As needed, MRC will come on-site for a general staff orientation.
  • Recruitment & Selection - Seminars will also focus on how to recruit, select, and orient personnel. In addition, specific tool sets that MRC has created will help in the process of actually defining position requirements and related selection criteria. These tools will also be available online and include phone assistance if required. As requested, MRC can actually handle the recruitment as an additional service.
  • Time & Attendance - Through MRC's Advanced Data Integration unit (ADI), we can empower libraries to have the most advanced methods for staff scheduling (with a single point for establishing the staff's schedule) as well as communicating time and attendance. These solutions are designed to increase payroll accuracy, decrease payroll preparation time, and provide valuable reporting that keeps your library operating efficiently. (NOTE: Some additional discounted fees required for some Time & Attendance services.)
