CLC Discount Programs

Overview

CLC offers deep discounts to its member libraries on books, media, and library supplies, as well as special offers on a variety of products and services throughout the year. See below for information on all of CLC's attractive discounts.

To take advantage of CLC's discounts, your library must become a CLC member. Once your membership takes effect you will receive all the information you'll need to set up your accounts directly with the vendors of your choice. You will need the CLC bid number in order to qualify for all discounts.

Books

For the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011, CLC has contracted with the following vendors for your book purchasing needs:

Media

For nonprint media (DVDs, Blu-Ray, music CDs, books on CD, downloadable audio & video, PlayAways, software) CLC has contracted with the following vendors for the period July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2011:

Library Supplies, Furniture, Equipment & Shelving

CLC offers the following negotiated discounts in this category:

  • A 36 page itemized list of specific library supplies items, offered at deep discounts.
  • A "catalog" discount for a percentage off library supplies, covering almost anything in a vendor's library supplies catalog that isn't listed in the itemized list. (Restrictions usually apply.)
  • A discount for a percentage off library furniture, equipment and shelving. Items offered vary widely by vendor; see descriptions below.

All library supplies, furniture, equipment and shelving discounts are available to CLC member libraries through June 30, 2010.

ITEMIZED LIBRARY SUPPLIES LIST

    Our 36-page Cooperative Purchase of Library Supplies itemized list is available to all members who completed their supplies survey. To obtain a copy of the list, contact Pattie Noren at pnoren@ctlibrarians.org or 860-465-5001.


The 2008-2010 LIBRARY SUPPLIES OVERALL CATALOG BID was awarded to the following vendors:

  • BRODART extends a 20% discount on items in their Library/Office/AV/Computer supplies catalogs not already included in the supplies price list through 6/30/10. This discount applies to current prices from the catalog in effect at time of order. This does not include Security Systems & Accessories, Scan Pro, Image Mouse Products, Books and Automation Division products. Shipping charges are included. Refer to bid #CLC 2008-01.
  • DEMCO extends a 20% discount on items in their annual catalog excluding security products, Check Point Disc Mate, Peek-A-Book products, Custom Set up fees and Special Order Items. Minimum order of $50. Free shipping on all stocked Supply and Learning Materials. Refer to Discount #C20081.
  • GAYLORD extends a 20% discount on items in their annual catalog excluding security systems. Refer to priority code CLC2008-1D.
  • HIGHSMITH extends a 20% discount on items in their Library/Office/AV/Computer supplies catalog. This does not include 3M Security System accessories, systems or supplies, and sale catalogs. Shipping charges are included. Minimum order of $50. Refer to bid #CLC 2008-01 and Highsmith bid #210541.
  • VERNON LIBRARY SUPPLIES extends 20% discount on consumable items and 10% on non-consumable. These discounts apply to Gaylord's web catalog. Shipping on consumables is free with a $50 order. Non-consumable shipping costs are added at the time of order.

The 2008-2010 LIBRARY FURNITURE, EQUIPMENT & SHELVING BID was awarded to the following vendors:

  • BRODART extends a 15% discount on items in their Furniture / Equipment / Machine catalogs. This does not include Security Systems & Accessories, All Scan Pro & Image Mouse products, Books & Automation Division products. Your library pays shipping charges included on your invoice. Refer to bid #CLC 2008-01.
  • DUPONT SYSTEMS extends a general library shelving discount: < $3,500=15%, $3,500-$10,000=20%, $10,000-$50,000=25%, $100,000+ =35%. Also offers installation of new shelving, moving of existing, book transfer and truck and driver.
  • EAST COAST STORAGE SOLUTIONS extends a general library shelving discount: 30% AETNASTAK, 32% Mobilex, 20% Russ Bassett. 50% deposit, 50% net 30 days. Early payment discount 3%. Returns have a restocking fee.
  • F.E. HALE MANUFACTURING offers a discount of 46% on furniture or shelving. Early payment 1% 20 days.
  • GAYLORD extends a 10% discount on general library furniture, equipment and machinery items. Refer to priority code CLC2008-1D.
  • INSALCO CORP. offers a 40% discount on Bretford and/or Buckstaff shelving or furniture Ð delivered and installed. Note: State of CT Contract # 03PSX0165AP.
  • SALKA OFFICE FURNITURE extends a 34% discount on Agati furniture. Includes delivery, assembly & installation. Early payment: 1% 10 days.
  • SYSTEMATICS INC. offers discounts on library shelving and/or library furniture from the following manufacturers: Spacesaver 47%, Oblique 20%, Goelst 20%, Russ Bassett 27%, Systec 15%. Discounts include freight from manufacturer and inside delivery. Early payment: 1% 10 days.
  • TUCKER LIBRARY INTERIORS extends discounts on library furniture from the following manufacturers: Worden 35%, Community 40%, Jasper Chair 40%. Shelving < $5,000=32%, $5,000-$15,000=42%, $15,000+ =50% off list. Call for installation quotes. Early payment 1% 10 days. Furniture items are non-returnable and non-refundable.
  • VERNON LIBRARY SUPPLIES extends a 10% discount on furniture, equipment and machines. This discount applies to Gaylord's web catalog. Shipping costs are added at the time of order.

ORDERING PROCEDURES:

  1. Any member of CLC may order from the catalog bids listed above. Refer to each order as designated in the VENDORS section above. The catalog bids are intended to cover items not included in the itemized supplies list (see #2).
  2. Any member of CLC who has returned their supplies estimate for the existing bid may order from the itemized supplies list. New CLC members may order on an existing contract until new supplies estimate surveys are distributed. Contact Pattie Noren at 860-465-5001 or email pnoren@ctlibrarians.org for a copy of the itemized supplies list.
  3. Send orders directly to the vendors, noting any special terms listed. Payment terms are net 30 days.
  4. When placing an order, refer to bid #CLC 2008-01 on all paperwork.
  5. Discounts may not be used on promotional or 'sale' items.
