Master's in Library Science or equivalent
- Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven
SCSU has developed a new Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program, which has been granted precandidacy status by ALA. Enrollment is open.
- University of Rhode Island GSLIS, Kingston, RI
URI offers a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) degree, with optional tracks in Digital Media, Community Leadership, or School Library Media (see below).
- Simmons College GSLIS West, South Hadley, MA (click "SLIS West Campus")
Fewer courses are offered at the South Hadley site than at Simmons' main campus in Boston, but it IS possible to complete the entire program at GSLIS West depending on your specialty.
- Online-only programs - Get your degree from across the country by completing your courses entirely online. Visit ALA's Searchable Database of ALA-Accredited Programs and check the box for "100% online program available" to see a current list of accredited programs.

Library Technical Assistant (LTA) Certificate Programs
These certificate programs are intended to enhance the skills of para-professionals currently working in libraries and to introduce library service to those wishing to enter the field. The mission is to prepare paraprofessionals for all aspects of library work, with particular emphasis on technology related aspects of the field.
