Membership for Individuals

Staff of CLC member libraries and schools are automatically CLC members! Other individuals* - students, retirees of member libraries, trustees, administrators, and more - are welcome to register with our site as well. You will receive emails about upcoming events, and will be able to log in and register for programs. Click the link below to register!

If you are a performer or speaker interested in bringing your program to libraries/schools, please DON'T use this registration link - instead, see below. 
If you are only interested in job listings (posting or searching), you do not need to register - visit our jobs page.


Registration for Performers & Speakers

CLC maintains a separate Programming Catalog for performers and speakers interested in bringing their programs to libraries and schools. Please visit our Programming Catalog and choose "Create a Profile" to register.

Membership Dues

  • CLC membership is on a calendar year. Dues are payable by December 31 for membership beginning January 1.
  • Per CLC's bylaws, any member joining (for the first time - not renewing) from July 1 through December 31 will be billed 50% of annual dues.
  • Membership dues vary by library type and are based on either total operating expenditures (public and special libraries), student FTE (academic libraries), or enrollment (K-12 school libraries). Dues start at just $130/year for all library types. More information:  Membership Dues PDF icon

School Libraries:

Dues are based on the school's or district's total student enrollment in Fall 2014 (or most recent figures available). Schools may join as a district or individually. District membership usually provides substantial savings; however, schools joining as a district agree to pay membership dues from a single invoice and with a single payment. Corporate & Special Libraries:

Dues are based on the Total Operating Expeditures (TOE) for the library (not for the parent institution, if different) for 2015-2016.

Current Members - Renew Your Membership

CLC membership is on a calendar year schedule (January 1 - December 31). Renewal notices go out in the fall and are due December 31.


Payments for the membership year beginning January 2017 are due December 31, 2016. For a copy of your invoice, contact Lisa Mann at or 860.344.8777 x101.
