Hands-On Science with Velma Yancz-Urban

At our November meeting, author and certified teacher Velma Yancz-Urban will be our guest speaker, and will give us tips for bringing hands-on science programming into our libraries. Author of Whooo Eats What? One Lucky Mealworm!, and Acquiescence, Velma taught English and History at Ridgefield High School, and was the elementary Gifted/Enrichment teacher for CT Regional School District #12. In 2010, she created How Cool Is That?! (Hands-On Science) because of her belief that hands-on learning is for everyone. She now presents fun and engaging hands-on science workshops at schools, libraries, community centers and camps.
