READ AMERICA BANNERBulletin Boards & Decorations

Use these suggestions to transform your library and inspire your patrons!

  • Postcard Collage: Hand out mailing labels with the library's address, to your patrons. Ask them to mail the library a postcard from their vacation. Create a "Where in the US" display with these postcards. (Westport PL)
  • Childcraft has a wonderful, full-sized wall map of the USA. Kids can stick the cut-outs of the states on it throughout the summer. (Weston PL)
  • Create a full-sized wall mural of the USA. Children can move their cut-outs (people, cars, railroad, horse, whatever your favorite means of transportation) across the country as the weeks progress. (CH Booth Library, Newtown)
  • Due to renovations, Pequot Library is getting a little creative with their decorations, and will be creating a map of the USA on the floor.
  • Create and display a library quilt. Children can each make a square, depicting where they went this summer. (CH Booth, Newtown)
