New Events for a New Year

CLC/Simmons Professional Development Series

Simmons College sealCLC, in partnership with the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science, will soon launch a series of professional development courses especially for staff from CLC member libraries.  Sessions will focus on the latest in library technology and practices.  Half-day workshops will begin this winter and run through the spring. Watch your email, Facebook, and future newsletter issues for more on this exciting collaboration!

New Year's Resolution:
Attend More Roundtables!

Visit CLC's online calendar at www.ctlibrarians.org for complete details, the latest updates, and online registration for these roundtables and more. Remember ... all CLC member library staff are encouraged to attend ANY roundtable of interest, not just those in your geographic region or area of expertise!

ROUNDTABLE NEWS ...
  • In response to requests, CLC is interested in launching a Special Libraries Roundtable. Priority #1: Finding a chair (or co-chairs)! If you would be interested in chairing a new Special Libraries Roundtable, or are willing to at least explore the possibility, please email Deb Zulick at dzulick@ctlibrarians.org for more information.

  • A brand-new roundtable debuts this month! School Librarians Northwest meets on January 11 at the Forman School in Litchfield, co-chaired by Sara Kelley-Mudie of the Forman School and Abbe Waldron from Wamogo High School.

  • Welcome (and thank you!) to our new co-chairs for the Young Adult Librarians' Roundtable, Capitol Region: Bailey Ortiz and Karen Benner, both from the Lucy Robbins Welles Library in Newington. Bailey and Karen have taken over from Jessica Miller, now working in MA (see People News, below).

COMING UP THIS MONTH ...
